Chullpas of Sillustani 1/2 day
HIGHLIGHTS : Puno Titicaca Lake Chullpas of Sillustani
Overview
- Day 1 : Chullpas of Sillustani
Itinerary
Chullpas of Sillustani
We will pick you up in the vehicle at the hotel to depart from the city of Puno towards the northwest to the Chullpas of Sillustani. These towers from the pre-Inca and Inca period have different shapes and heights, and some reach up to 12 meters (39 feet). They are burial towers where the religious followers would bury their leaders, and they are located on a hill overlooking Lake Umayo. So, you will be able to discover a little bit about the place’s history, as well as enjoy and take pictures of the breathtaking scenery.
We will see the waru waru on the lake’s shore. These are agricultural systems involving platforms surrounded by channels of water creating a micro-climate to protect the plants. On our way back to Puno, we will pass through the town of Atuncolla, where we will get to see some customs of the local inhabitants, the Collas. We will end our tour in the city of Puno.
*The transportation from the hotels Libertador, Casa Andina Private Collection, Ecco Inn, Posada del Inca, José Antonio and Taypika is not included.
