This day we will leave Arequipa very early in the morning (02:30 - 03:00 am), to begin a direct trip to the Cruz del Condor in the Colca Canyon stopping for breakfast only. At approximately 8:30 am we will arrive at the place called the Cruz del Cóndor, a place considered the best viewpoint to observe the majestic andean condors that ascend from the valley, you can also enjoy a great view of the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest canyons in the world. This is the home of the andean condors, which can be seen at close range as they pass through the canyon walls. From this point 'Cruz del Cóndor', the bottom of the canyon is 1,200 m (3,960 ft) below the edge of the canyon. After this amazing show, we will continue our journey back to the city of Chivay, contemplating the beautiful andean landscape and the fascinating pre-Inca, Inca and Colonial history of the area. The road crosses several small towns founded in the Spanish colonial time and still inhabited by people from the Collagua and Cabana cultures. The local people maintain their traditional lifestyle and continue to cultivate the pre-Inca stepped terraces. Many of the women wear the traditional dress with embroidered blouses and hats adorned with flowers. In the afternoon, after lunch in Chivay we will return to the city of Arequipa.
